Two white men riding in the black South African township of Soweto were stoned by black militants, dragged from their vehicle and beaten, the government’s Bureau for Information said. Separately, anti-apartheid church leaders said they fear for the life of the Rev. Tshenuwani Simon Farisani, an Evangelical Lutheran minister who was arrested a week ago in the black tribal homeland of Venda after testifying in the United States and Europe to being tortured during a previous detention.
