Santa Ana police are seeking information on the death of a Fountain Valley electrician who was found unconscious in the middle of West 1st Street on Nov. 15.
Police Lt. Jack Nelson said a passerby discovered Phuong Van Dang, 39, lying in the center lane of the street on the driver’s side of his stopped car. He said Dang was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center where he died Nov. 26 without regaining consciousness. An autopsy recently revealed that Dang died after “a blow to the head from a blunt instrument,” Nelson said.
Dang was driving a brown 1978 two-door Toyota Celica hatchback, Nelson said. He asked that anyone who has any information about the incident contact Investigator Ferrell Buckels at the Santa Ana police robbery-homicide detail.
