Indianapolis was an overwhelming choice over Eugene, Ore., as the host city for the 1988 U.S. Olympic Trials in track and field.
In voting by The Athletics Congress’ International Competition Committee during TAC’s eighth annual convention, Indianapolis was selected over Eugene, 26-1, with four abstentions. Los Angeles had dropped out of the bidding earlier Wednesday.
