India to Close Power Plants Near Taj Mahal

NEW DELHI —
The government said Thursday that it will close two coal- and oil-fired electric power plants as part of a long-term program to curb air pollution that is damaging the Taj Mahal.
Some of the marble has been turning yellow because of air pollution from industries in Agra, site of the Taj, and the Moghul tomb has cracked from age.
