Three cadets at The Citadel have been suspended until the end of the month in the second hazing reported in a month at the Charleston, S.C., military school. The three are still in school because the suspensions were being appealed to Maj. Gen. James A. Grimsley Jr., president of The Citadel. The second hazing incident reportedly occurred last month. The first incident involved five white cadets’ hazing of a black cadet. The white cadets, wearing white sheets and towels, entered the black cadet’s room, spoke profanities and burned a small paper cross. The five cadets were temporarily suspended.
