Developments in Brief : Soviet Space Telescope Backs Big Bang Theory
A Soviet radio telescope launched into space three years ago has sent back data supporting the so-called Big Bang theory on the origin of the universe, the official news agency Tass reported Saturday.
“The results of studying so-called relic radiation which has remained from those far-off times circumstantially bear out the well-known hypothesis of a Big Bang and a swelling universe,” Tass said.
According to the Big Bang theory, the universe originated with an explosion about 15 billion years ago and has been expanding ever since.
