A $13.4-million surgical wing will be dedicated Thursday at Methodist Hospital of Southern California in Arcadia, with an opening scheduled Dec. 15.

Designed by Neptune & Thomas of Pasadena, the 52,100-square-foot facility was built by the Moran Co. of Alhambra, with interiors completed by Med Design of Salt Lake City. The two-story project has six operating rooms and three outpatient surgical suites.

Methodist Hospital, now a 345-bed medical complex, was founded in 1903 by the Women’s Home Missionary Society of the Methodist Church, predecessor to United Methodist Women. The hospital was first located in Los Angeles but moved in 1957 to its present site, at 300 W. Huntington Drive.
