Birth Control

In a Times article (Nov. 20) about overcrowded apartments. An apartment manager said, “The city should do something.” To me, the obvious place to start is with birth control. If people would restrict their families to what they can afford they could find apartments, and even manage to educate their children.
When we decided upon a family, we had two, a girl and a boy. Thus we were able to give them music lessons, scouts, parental time with homework, and a college education. Now they each have two degrees. Our daughter is a teacher and our son is a lawyer.
When I donate things to the poor I make sure it is not to a large family, because I feel that they have brought their own troubles upon themselves.
In fact, the city could make a footage law, and a large family could rent two or even three adjoining apartments. So they can’t afford it? Well, why did they breed so much?
