74,000 Escorts, Lynxes Recalled for Pollution

WASHINGTON — Ford Motor Co. is recalling 74,000 1986 Ford Escort and Mercury Lynx cars to readjust the engines so they will meet federal air pollution standards, the Environmental Protection Agency said Monday.
The EPA said the recall is for cars equipped with a 1.9-liter (116 cubic inch) engine and automatic transmission.
