BIR ZEIT, Occupied West Bank —
Nearly 1,000 Arab students shouting pro-Palestine Liberation Organization slogans today protested Israel’s closing of a university campus, while Israeli troops wounded at least eight Arabs in demonstrations in the occupied Gaza Strip.
“Reagan, Reagan, you should know: We support the PLO,” chanted students and faculty at Bir Zeit University, where two students were killed during a demonstration last week, setting off a wave of daily disturbances in territories Israel captured during the 1967 war.
