The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco named Thomas C. Warren, an executive vice president and member of the bank’s management committee, as top officer at its Los Angeles branch.

The Los Angeles office is among the busiest of the 37 nationwide offices in the Federal Reserve System in terms of check processing and cash handling. The branch serves Southern California, Arizona and Las Vegas.

Warren, 48, has been acting branch manager in Los Angeles since the resignation of Robert M. McGill in early October. Over the past two months, Warren has supervised the initial moves of the Los Angeles branch to its new downtown building. He oversees about 600 employees.
