JAMES WON’T FACE CHARGES

The Los Angeles County district attorney has decided not to file criminal charges against Councilman Floyd A. James, who was questioned by sheriff’s deputies last month after a stolen IBM personal computer was found in his home.

A spokesman for the prosecutor’s office said there is no evidence knew he computer had been stolen. James had purchased the computer from an acquaintance at a sharply reduced price because the unit was in need of repair, the spokesman said. The computer had actually been taken in a Cerritos robbery a short time before the sale. Deputies have made several other arrests in that case.
