The organizing committee for the 1988 Winter Olympic Games in Calgary has asked ABC for a loan of $50 million in Canadian money--$36.2 million, U.S.--to cover an anticipated cash shortfall next year. The television network, which agreed to pay $309 million, U.S., for exclusive rights to televise the Games in the United States, is considering the request, committee chairman Frank King said.
