The University of California, faced with possible court action, indefinitely suspended all drug testing for athletes.
Campus officials announced the end of the school’s testing program and said they would instead meet with student leaders and an attorney to work out a new plan designed to enable school authorities to spot any drug problem in an athlete without infringing on individual privacy.
