Leslie Combs II, 85, has retired as chairman of Spendthrift Farm Inc. of Lexington, Ky., and has resumed the position of chairman emeritus. Combs came out of retirement to become chairman on Jan. 5, 1986. The position of chairman will remain unfilled.
