Inmates at the new Arizona State Prison Complex in Tucson set fires and smashed windows with stockpiled stones in a four-hour riot sparked by a convict’s refusal to give up an orange that he had in his cell against rules, authorities said. Seven inmates and a prison guard were overcome by smoke and one convict was slightly injured in the rampage by 137 of the 431 prisoners in the 744-bed Cimarron Unit.
