Lottery Fan Figures Right: $5 a Week = $3.85 Million

Ever since the games began more than a year ago, Rochelle Ware, a 25-year-old Venice resident, has bought five California Lottery tickets a week.

Saturday her patience and expenditures paid off--handsomely.

Ware won $3.85 million in Sacramento on the “Big Spin.”

The new millionaire is a policy processor for an insurance company and lives with her mother.

“The first thing I’m going to do is buy my mom a home,” she said of her winnings.

The prize will be doled out to her over the next 20 years in annual payments.

Lottery spokesman John Schade said Ware should receive her first check next week. It will total about $153,000 after subtracting federal income tax.
