Fullerton Man Appointed Judge in W. Orange County Municipal Court
El Monte’s city attorney, Sidney Maleck, 62, of Fullerton, was appointed Monday to the West Orange County Municipal Court bench in Westminster.
The appointment, made by Gov. George Deukmejian, will fill the vacancy left when Municipal Court Judge Kathleen O’Leary was promoted to the Orange County Superior Court bench.
Maleck has been El Monte’s city attorney since 1977 and attorney for the El Monte Community Redevelopment Agency since 1978. Before that, he was an assistant city attorney in Burbank and San Bernardino.
Maleck received his bachelor of law degree from New York Law School in 1952. He conducted a private practice in Santa Ana from 1970 to 1972.
