Fleeing Suspect Slain by Police

A police officer shot and killed a fleeing suspect about 3:30 a.m. today near the Western Avenue exit of the Hollywood Freeway, officials said. Some freeway lanes were closed during the investigation of the shooting, but all were reopened by 9:30 a.m.
The Los Angeles Police Department declined to disclose details of the shooting. The unidentified suspect was pronounced dead on the center divider of the freeway by Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics.
