Woman Beheaded for Murdering Other Wife

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — A Saudi Arabian woman was publicly beheaded Friday for killing her husband’s other wife.
The woman, Safra Bint Haynagan Oteibi, had been convicted of stabbing Sarah Bint Oteibi during an argument, and then cutting off her head, an Interior Ministry statement said.
Saudi authorities often order the beheading of male convicts after Friday’s weekly prayers in keeping with Islamic tradition. There have been cases of women being stoned for adultery, but this was the first time in memory that a woman was beheaded for murder.
