Soviets, Laos Sign Pact to Boost Trade
The Soviet Union and Laos signed a scientific and technical cooperation pact that calls for increased trade, the Vietnam News Agency reported Sunday.
The report, monitored in Bangkok, quoted the official Laotian news agency KPL as saying the agreement was signed Friday in Vientiane at a meeting on economic, scientific and technical cooperation.
Under the accord, the Soviets will supply Laos with transport equipment, building materials, petroleum, spare parts and various manufactured products. Laos will supply Moscow with timber, tin ore and coffee, the report said.
