Clippers Cut Huston, Then Hit Road

Share

Guard Geoff Huston, who was signed by the Clippers as a free agent on Nov. 11, was waived Monday. Huston, who played for Golden State last season, averaged 6.8 points and 5.3 assists in 19 games with the Clippers. He started eight games before being replaced in the lineup by Darnell Valentine four games ago.

Huston, a seven-year veteran, was cut one day before all contracts become guaranteed for the rest of the season. His roster spot will be used by guard Quintin Dailey, who is expected to join the team later this week or early next week.

The Clippers, who open a two-game trip tonight against the Houston Rockets at the Summit, took only 10 players. Larry Drew did not make the trip because of a hamstring injury.
