Coroner Seeks Identity of Bones

Share

Authorities are trying to identify human bones found last week in Angeles National Forest about 16 miles above La Canada Flintridge.

The remains had been there about 1 1/2 years, said Dean Gilmore, Los Angeles County coroner’s spokesman. Their size and shape suggests that they are of a teen-age boy or young adult male, Gilmore said.

A hiker discovered the bones last Thursday in a ravine about 100 yards from Angeles Crest Highway, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Clinton Dillon said.

Gilmore said identification could take several months, depending on what dental records and other evidence are available.
