Thailand to Close Last Camp for Cambodians

BANGKOK, Thailand —
Thailand will officially close its last camp for Cambodian refugees Dec. 31 and begin transferring residents to border areas in three stages, a senior official said Friday.
Prasong Soonsiri, secretary general of the prime minister’s office, said the Khao i Dang camp, which houses 26,000 Cambodians, will be officially closed as of Dec. 31 and “all newcomers will be stopped from coming in.”
