CalMat said it agreed to sell Valley Reclamation.
The Los Angeles construction supply company said it agreed in principle to sell its 200-acre Sun Valley landfill to Waste Management of North America for $61.3 million as part of CalMat’s plan to focus on core businesses. Proceeds will be used partly to complete the acquisition of Van Nuys-based Industrial Asphalt, CalMat said, adding that Waste Management will continue to operate the landfill, which opened in 1980.
