Clearing House Names New Chief Executive

Donald R. Anderson has been named president and chief executive of Electronic Clearing House, an Agoura Hills maker of equipment used by stores to validate credit cards.
Anderson, a former vice president of marketing research and product planning for McDonnell Douglas, replaces Thomas E. Skala. Skala, who founded the company in 1977, said he resigned as chairman and chief executive in November to satisfy outsiders who required his resignation as a condition of their investment.
At the time of Skala’s resignation, Electronic Clearing House said it had terminated transactions with an equipment leasing company and a check-guarantee firm in which Skala owned interests. Skala acknowledged at the time that he was fined $5,000 in connection with a 1975 mail fraud conviction and also that he filed for protection from creditors in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in 1980.
