Addition Planned for Newport Medical Center

A March ground breaking is scheduled for a $17-million addition to the Newport Lido Medical Center, across the street from Hoag Hospital at 351 Hospital Road, Newport Beach.
Designed by Corbin/Yamafuji & Partners, the five-story, 85,000-square-foot building and 665-car subterranean parking garage will convey the feeling of an “elegant hotel” with a four-story atrium, according to development spokesman Michael Lombardi. The new building will be bridged to a remodeled six-story structure.
The developer is Newport Lido Medical Center, a joint venture of Newport Medical Investors and Ingenuity in Property II. Lombardi is general partner of Newport Medical Investors. The general contractor is Saffel & McAdam, Irvine, and the landscape architect is POD Inc., Santa Ana.
