Rancho Mirage Mayor Jeffrey Bleaman said his desert community enjoys the publicity generated by President Reagan’s spending the New Year’s holiday there but he decried the fact that the media often gives credit to neighboring Palm Springs. Bleaman said newsmen accompanying the President and his wife frequently report that the estate of publisher Walter Anneberg, the first couple’s host, is in the nearby and better-known community.
