A Pacoima man was sentenced to 20 years and four months in state prison Monday for his part in an armed robbery spree last year.

San Fernando Superior Court Judge John H. Major imposed the sentence on Daniel Rivera, 28, who was convicted in November of 10 counts of armed robbery and three other charges, including assault with a deadly weapon.

The robberies took place between June 21 and Aug. 28 and involved mostly fast-food restaurants, Deputy Dist. Atty. Chesley McKay said. Rivera operated with two other men who have already been convicted and sentenced, McKay said.

The amounts taken ranged from about $80 to $1,000, and the weapons used in the various robberies included a screwdriver, a handgun and a sawed-off shotgun, McKay said.
