Lawndale : New Council Meeting Dates

The City Council voted to change its meetings from the first and third Monday of each month to the first and third Thursday, beginning in March. The meeting time also was changed from 7:30 p.m. to 7.
Mayor Sarann Kruse said the new schedule will give council members more time to discuss agenda items with staff during the week. “It’s difficult to get the agenda on Friday, then get answers and research that you need by Monday,” she said.
City Clerk Neil Roth said the new schedule was considered necessary because of recent changes in state law that require the posting of agenda items 72 hours before council meetings.
Under the revised schedule, study sessions, which precede council meetings at 6:30 p.m., will be eliminated.
