Will fly to Japan on Friday for a weeklong visit to promote increased trade and open a new California trade office in Tokyo.

Assembly Bill Introductions:

State Office Hours: AB 237 by Assemblyman Nolan Frizelle (R-Huntington Beach) would permit state agencies to change their present business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to noon to 8 p.m. as a help to members of the public who cannot take time off during normal working hours.

Expense Accounts: AB 239 by Assemblywoman Gwen Moore (D-Los Angeles) would disallow state income tax business deductions for expenses incurred at private clubs that discriminate on the basis of age, sex, race, religion or national origin. Similar legislation has died at past sessions.

Restrooms: AB 259 by Assemblyman Tom Bates (D-Oakland) would require all service stations built or remodeled after Jan. 1, 1988, to have both public restrooms and public telephones.

AIDS: AB 250 by Assemblywoman Teresa P. Hughes (D-Los Angeles) would specify that a doctor shall not be held criminally or civilly liable for disclosing that a patient has AIDS to his or her spouse.

Nudists: AB 251 by Assemblyman Gerald R. Eaves (D-Rialto) would allow nudists to serve alcoholic beverages to other nudists in nudist camp restaurants if local county supervisors and the sheriff have no objections.

Budget: AB 224 by Assemblyman John Vasconcellos (D-Santa Clara) would appropriate $39 billion for support of state government for the 1987-88 fiscal year starting July 1.

Senate Bill Introductions:

Telephone Wiring: SCR 10 by Sen. Herschel Rosenthal (D-Los Angeles) would ask President Reagan and Congress to enact legislation to reverse the Federal Communications Commission’s decision to deregulate inside telephone wiring maintenance. The effect would be to shift the responsibility for repairs from customers back to the telephone companies.

Budget: SB 152 by Sen. Alfred E. Alquist (D-San Jose) would appropriate $39 billion to operate state government during the 1987-88 fiscal year beginning July 1.
