Bobby Jackson Named Charger Assistant

Charger Coach Al Saunders, moving to fill vacancies on his staff, has named Bobby Jackson running backs coach.

Jackson, 46, was hired from the Atlanta Falcons to replace Earnel Durden, whose contract was not renewed.

The Chargers still have one opening--for a special teams coach, who will also assist with the defense.

Jackson formerly coached at the University of Tennessee, where he met Saunders, who was the Volunteers’ offensive coordinator in 1982.
