Cosmetics Firm Is Target of Animal Lovers’ Protest

NEW YORK —
About 40 demonstrators dressed in blood-spattered smocks on Saturday picketed the headquarters of Avon Products to protest the use of animals in the testing of cosmetics. The members of the International Society for Animal Rights said they oppose methods that Avon and other such companies use to determine that new products are safe for human use.
