The World : Mexico to Cut Oil Exports
Mexico will cut back its petroleum exports by 30,000 barrels a day to support OPEC efforts to boost world oil prices. Energy Minister Alfredo del Mazo Gonzalez said the cutback is aimed at “supporting the strategy of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries” and noted it would “not hurt Mexico’s revenues” as it represented a reduction of only 2%. He said Mexico is the third-largest oil supplier to the United States, shipping 705,000 barrels of oil daily, more than half of its total production.
