The St. Louis-based aircraft manufacturer said it will construct the 150,000-square-foot component assembly plant at Lewis B. Wilson Airport in Macon, Ga., and will employ from 200 to 300 workers. Construction of the $10-million McDonnell Douglas Corp. plant is expected to begin in 1988, with the plant opening in 1989, a spokesman said. The plant will assemble components to be used on the new C-17 transport plane for the Air Force.
