Oral Roberts and God’s ‘Threat’
Your article (Jan. 19), “Media Focus Is Unfair, Oral Roberts Complains,” quotes Roberts as saying:
“Sometimes I feel resentment . . . I’ve raised a billion dollars for Christ, and only one-tenth of 1% came to my family.”
The writer of the article should have done a little arithmetic to enlighten us.
Let’s see--one-tenth of 1% of $1 billion works out to be? The answer is $1 million. Not bad, Rev. Roberts, not bad!
As long as the media representatives don’t carry out these simple computations, I would have to agree with Roberts that the media is unfair--unfair to its readers for failing to expose this fraud on the public.
