NEW YORK —
A Catholic nun who worked and lived at a shelter for the homeless was fatally stabbed early Monday, police said. The body of Sister Virginia Thomann, 65, was found propped up at her desk in My Brother’s Place, a halfway house run by the Order of the Good Shepherd in the Bronx. It was not known whether she was killed during a robbery or an argument, police said. They said no weapon had been recovered.
