Republicans and Iran Arms Issue
The media have rushed to judgment regarding Iran. The frustrated liberal press mistakenly thought they could destroy President Reagan. In a chorus they attacked the heroic Marine Lt. Col. Oliver North and dogged CIA Director William Casey. The media never gave Casey credit for restoring order and efficiency in the Central Intelligence Agency.
Does Congress want communism on the American mainland? The refusal to help the contras drove patriots to possibly illegal acts. For years Russia and Cuba have sent massive amounts of weapons to Nicaragua. The contras helped overthrow Anastasio Somoza only to be forced to rebel again against the greater repression of the deceitful communists.
Our country suffers because of the powerful leftist press. But if the voters keep cool we can reach our goal of a strong America. We are far from perfect but still the best. Ask the millions of legal and illegal immigrants of this and past generations.
