VLISSINGEN, the Netherlands —
Firefighters Tuesday extinguished a fire on a Greek tanker loaded with gasoline after battling the blaze for 52 hours in the North Sea.
The Olympic Dream, carrying 22,500 tons of gasoline, caught fire when it collided almost head-on with a Liberian-registered freighter in thick fog off the Netherlands on Sunday. The freighter, the August Thyssen, was damaged but was able to limp into port.
