Swedish police hunting the killer of Prime Minister Olof Palme received a further blow when three Kurds believed linked to the murder were released after evidence against them collapsed. The three were accused of being accomplices to the murder of a Kurd, Cetin Gungor, in Stockholm in November, 1985, a killing that police had said was linked to Palme’s murder last February. The three reportedly have connections to a Kurdish extremist organization. But magistrates ordered the release of two of the men due to insufficient evidence and the third was then released by prosecutors.
