Carson Civic Plaza Will Get Under Way in March

A March ground breaking is planned for Carson Civic Plaza, a $34-million mixed-use development composed of an eight-story hotel, six-story office building and free-standing restaurant on a 6.3-acre site near the Carson City Hall.

The plaza is being developed by Civic Plaza Associates, a joint venture of the Muller Co., Newport Beach, the office developer, and Gestec Properties, Los Angeles, the hotel developer.

The 235-room Hotel Ibis Carson, will be part of a chain owned by the Accor Group of France, and will include a 3,800-square-foot Parisian-style dinner house.

Gilbert Aja Associates, Laguna Hills, designed both the project and the office building. David Jacobson, Arcadia, designed the hotel. Oltmans Construction Co., Whittier, is general contractor for the office building.
