One of the FBI’s most wanted men until his arrest in late December at a Laundromat in Antioch has offered to plead guilty to escape and bank robbery charges in seven states if all the cases are transferred to a federal court in San Francisco. The attorney for Joseph William Dougherty, 47, said his client hopes that a judge will look favorably on his willingness to save the expense of separate trials and the cost of transporting him under heavy guard around the nation by giving him a sentence of less than 50 years. He could face prison sentences of more than 200 years if tried on separate charges. Dougherty escaped during an Oklahoma City bank robbery trial and also is wanted in St. Louis, Milwaukee, Reno, Seattle, Salt Lake City and Phoenix.
