An emergency three-hour debate is scheduled for today in Britain’s House of Commons after a weekend police raid on the Scottish offices of the British Broadcasting Corp. Special Branch police confiscated a banned documentary film on Britain’s first spy satellite and two vanloads of material related to a documentary on the British secret service. Labor Party leader Neil Kinnock said the seizure was “a vindictive reprisal motivated entirely by spite.” BBC officials also protested the raid, but government officials denied involvement and said the search was a police operation.
