B of A to Offer Do-It-Yourself Banking Service

Share

Forging ahead with the latest in do-it-yourself banking, Bank of America has chosen a Fountain Valley branch for the Southern California debut of its new automated banking service.

The computerized system--called TimeSaver Banking--consists of a free-standing panel of kiosks, each offering a variety of automated services, including instant deposits, home banking, loans by phone, bill paying and cash withdrawals.

Placed in a bank’s lobby, such as the one pictured above in the B of A Bay Fair branch in San Leandro, the TimeSaver system provides customers the option of personalized or automated service, the company said.

“Our goal is to make banking faster and easier for customers who don’t have a lot of time to spend on routine banking transactions,” said Al Eskridge, senior vice president and area manager for 14 Orange County B of A branches.

The line-up of electronic machines does include one old-fashioned feature--a service desk where a bank employee will be stationed to help customers who choose to use the automated devices.
