Western Digital Files for Secondary Offering

Western Digital Corp. said it filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a secondary offering of 1.7 million shares of common stock. First Boston Corp. is the lead underwriter for the offering.

The Irvine-based electronics concern previously had said that the stock to be sold is held by a group of former shareholders of Paradise Systems Inc., which Western Digital acquired in November for 2.6 million newly issued shares of common stock.

Western Digital currently has 23.4 million common shares outstanding.
