So Judge Wilkinson thinks a pregnant woman qualifies to use the car-pool lane. This raises some disturbing questions. Perhaps most important, how are the police supposed to know there is actually a passenger in the car, when only the driver occupies a seat?
And how does this square with the purpose of having a car-pool lane, i.e., to encourage the practice of pooling so as to relieve freeway congestion?
And how Wilkinson ever reached the bench, and whether it isn’t about time he thought about retirement!
