Local News in Brief : FBI Searches Offices of Simi Defense Firm

Share

The FBI has searched the Simi Valley offices of a defense contractor that manufactures sensors used in planes and missiles after allegations that the firm submitted false test information to the government, the bureau said Thursday.

The FBI would not elaborate on the reasons for the search Wednesday at the Transducer Products Division of Genisco Technology Corp. in the 600 block of East Street. In a brief statement, the agency reported that no arrests were made and that it was joined in the search by officials of the Naval Investigative Service and the U. S. Defense Criminal Investigative Service.

A spokeswoman at Genisco’s headquarters in Rancho Dominguez said the company had no comment.

The sensors, called transducers, are used in equipment such as flight-data recorders and missile-guidance systems. One weapon containing the sensors is the HARM missile, a high-speed, anti-radar missile used by the Navy and Air Force.
