Mississippi’s Democrats will join about a dozen other Southern states in a Super Tuesday presidential primary in March, 1988, party officials said in Jackson. The Super Tuesday primary, which will follow candidate nominations in New Hampshire and Iowa, is designed to force presidential hopefuls to spend more time campaigning in the South and give the South a greater say in selecting a presidential candidate.
