Wilderness Experience said it was only able to pay $250,000 of the $500,000 due on its bank debt by a Jan. 31 deadline.

The Chatsworth maker of outdoor gear said its bank gave it until Feb. 20 to develop an acceptable plan for paying off the remaining $1.7-million debt to the bank. The company said it is trying to raise money for working capital as well as debt repayment.
