The chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards vowed to launch new missile attacks against Baghdad and other Iraqi cities if Iraq continues its air raids on Iran. Tehran has reported 3,000 civilians killed and 9,000 injured in Iraqi air raids and missile attacks on 29 Iranian cities. Mohsen Rafikdoust, minister in charge of the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini’s all-volunteer force, said his unit has a large store of missiles ready for use. “If (Iraq’s) mischief continues, our attacks on strategic centers in Baghdad and other cities will increase,” he said.
